A major factor is, I think, just about all the bishops and most priests who come down the Dearden line are poorly formed. That's certainly the case with Maida, Vigneron, Nienstedt, Boyea, Quinn, Britt, and many others.
If they had a conscience at one time it was washed right out of their head. Way back when I was working in the Detroit chancery in the early '90s it dawned on me one day that all the priests in leadership roles -- in the chancery -- had no real sense of right and wrong on key issues. They could tell a lie as easy as tell the truth without flinching.
Beyond sad. I frequented St Marys and their Sunday evening 7pm years ago when I worked weekends. Why is the Bishop allowing this?
